Aqara is Zigbee-first. A hub can control up to 128 related devices. Matter nuance worth knowing before you quote: adding Matter accessories, including Matter over Thread, requires a Matter controller such as Hub M3, set up in Aqara Home first. Zigbee devices can be added via Hub M3 or the S1 Plus, because the S1 Plus is itself a Zigbee hub.
Which products need a neutral at the switch box
Read this as a device class rule, then confirm the exact SKU against the product datasheet before you quote. Datasheets change; your quote cannot be wrong on a number you did not check.

The single most common job-killer in Malaysia: quoting a conventional smart switch into a box that has live and switched live and nothing else. The room-by-room survey that catches this is in how to survey a Malaysian home before quoting.
Back box and gang requirements
- The Panel Switch S100 (MP-K04D) is specified for an 86mm box, 8.6cm, 3-gang, in grey or white, with Wi-Fi and Apple HomeKit.
- The Smart Wall Switch Z1 Pro comes in several gang configurations — match the gang count to the switch being replaced, not to the room.
- Back box internal depth is the variable nobody quotes until it is too late. Measure it, with the faceplate off. See will a smart switch fit my back box.
LED load compatibility
Do not quote a lighting device without checking the load. No-neutral devices have a minimum load; LED drivers cause flicker and ghost glow; a single LED downlight on a corridor circuit is not automatically a supported load. Aircon and water heater
Those circuits in Malaysia are typically 20A, and a lighting plate is the wrong device for them. The Aqara Smart 20A Switch H1 (SEA Version) is the device for the job. Fit it on the correct circuit, with the correct load in mind, and treat it as fixed electrical work.
